After a rather tough play, Inter FK's Jonas Classon got a free kick in the 20th minute. Jonas Pålsson took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 21st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Roy Norberg. Inter FK's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 29 minutes, Karl-Åke Ersman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Inter FK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Karl-Åke Ersman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karl-Åke Ersman in the 33rd minute of play forced Brynäs IF's goalkeeper Mats Öman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Brynäs IF's zone, Johan Bolander stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mats Öman came out of the goal and Johan Bolander tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gustav Sjögren's late challenge caught a Inter FK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gustav Sjögren helped the player get up and apologised. Gustav Sjögren hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. In the 39th minute, Karl-Åke Ersman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Malte Clementsson got free with Mats Öman in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gustav Pettersson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Roy Norberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustav Pettersson, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. The supporters of Inter FK booed when Brynäs IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claes Sundström didn't get a good kick on the ball. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
