The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Nils-Erik Öberg the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Skälvik IK protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Nils-Erik Öberg had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 3 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Skälvik IK! Skälvik IK's Christian Söderman couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 9th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Bruksvallarna IFK. Bertil Lindell recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Freddie Hjortsberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alf Eriksson, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Bertil Lindell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Axel Eriksson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 21st minute Stig-Åke Jespersson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Axel Eriksson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 24 minutes into the match, Bruksvallarna IFK's goal looked a bit too open when Alf Eriksson came free, but Freddie Hjortsberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Osvald Hellström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Freddie Hjortsberg didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alf Eriksson went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After 31 played minutes Skälvik IK got a freekick which was hit by Tobias Tingberg. Alf Eriksson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Freddie Hjortsberg having to interfere. 36 minutes into the match, Skälvik IK's Alf Eriksson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Freddie Hjortsberg narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Sven-Edvin Eklund came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Bruksvallarna IFK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sven-Edvin Eklund couldn't finish the play. 40 minutes into the match, Skälvik IK's goal looked a bit too open when Stig-Åke Jespersson came free, but Axel Eriksson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Freddie Hjortsberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alf Eriksson in the 42nd minute of play. 42 minutes into the game, Fred Lundin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Skälvik IK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bruksvallarna IFK the free kick. Bertil Lindell who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 46thth minute tested the skills of Axel Eriksson when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Stig-Åke Jespersson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Bruksvallarna IFK players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Skälvik IK were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alf Eriksson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes in the game, Alf Eriksson fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Freddie Hjortsberg having to interfere. Bruksvallarna IFK's Bertil Lindell got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Simon Vesterberg during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 59th minute of the game. One of Skälvik IK:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Bruksvallarna IFK:s goal. In the 61st minute there was a penalty for Bruksvallarna IFK. Gabriel Hjälm stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Axel Eriksson. 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Stig-Åke Jespersson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bruksvallarna IFK's supporters rose to their feet, but Stig-Åke Jespersson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Axel Eriksson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
