Patrik Hedman kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Björn Billing showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Harald Vesterberg in the 15th minute of the match. With an all-out effort, Hudiksvall RK's Björn Billing threw himself towards the right post 18 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Harald Vesterberg, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Arne Asserlindh struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Eskil Jonsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Falköping BF. If Arne Asserlindh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 24th minute of the match, Ian Ström got a very nice opportunity to score, but Björn Billing was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Pär Hökqvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arne Asserlindh might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eskil Jonsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Arne Asserlindh ran back to his position shaking his head. Ian Ström in the 32ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Björn Billing, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 33 minutes into the match, Hudiksvall RK's goal looked a bit too open when Pär Hökqvist came free, but Eskil Jonsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Falköping BF's Björn Billing played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Harald Vesterberg in the 35th minute of play. With a little luck, Falköping BF's Björn Billing got control of the ball when Karl-Erik Linqvist tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Harald Vesterberg in the 39th minute of play forced Falköping BF's goalkeeper Björn Billing to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Björn Billing made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Börge Drewitz in the 41st minute of play. Bo-Erik Palmquist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Eskil Jonsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pär Hökqvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eskil Jonsson having to interfere. In the 47th minute, Ian Ström ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Björn Billing was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Harald Vesterberg to make the kick off. Eskil Jonsson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pär Hökqvist's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. Eskil Jonsson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Patrik Hedman in the 53rd minute. Björn Billing didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Harald Vesterberg went, in the 60th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. When Hudiksvall RK's Harald Vesterberg in the 63rd minute got a chance for a shot 63rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After 66 played minutes, Hudiksvall RK's Sven-Åke Kaxe shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Björn Billing came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Hudiksvall RK reached it. In the 67th minute Ian Ström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Björn Billing saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Björn Billing came out of the goal in the 72nd minute to try and stop a shot by Hudiksvall RK's Karl-Erik Linqvist. But to his dismay, Karl-Erik Linqvist quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. In the 74th match minute, Hudiksvall RK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ian Ström to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Falköping BF's Patrik Hedman got a free kick in the 77th minute. In the 78th minute of the match Sven-Åke Kaxe shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Björn Billing showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. A collision led to Hudiksvall RK getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Karl-Erik Linqvist hit a great ball. A collision led to Falköping BF getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Arne Asserlindh hit a great ball. Björn Billing didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ian Ström went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. When Hudiksvall RK's Harald Vesterberg in the 96th minute got a chance for a shot 96th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Ian Ström recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 98th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Falköping BF's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
