Instead the ball went too high, a missed opportunity for Rönnäng IF. When Kåre Wallengren fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rönnäng IF's protests and gave Kåre Wallengren a yellow card for diving instead. When the match clock showed 16 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Ludwig Eskilsson sped through Råneå IFK's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ture Wickander. Dan Klementsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bo Palmquist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pål Jansson kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Jan Telin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Ture Wickander tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Råneå IFK's Ture Wickander proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Råneå IFK from getting a goal against them. In the 32nd minute Jan Telin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ture Wickander saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Råneå IFK getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Uno Benett hit a great ball. With a little luck, Råneå IFK's Ture Wickander got control of the ball when Ludwig Eskilsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. Agne Nordström's late challenge caught a Rönnäng IF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Agne Nordström helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Rönnäng IF booed when Råneå IFK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agne Nordström didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jan Telin was the one to do the kick off. After some careless play in the Råneå IFK defense, Ludwig Eskilsson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ture Wickander. The Råneå IFK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ture Wickander should have stopped the shot. Jan Telin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ture Wickander having to interfere. 60 minutes into the game, Jan Telin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Ture Wickander was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Rönnäng IF getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Jan Telin hit a great ball. Ture Wickander showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jan Telin in the 73rd minute of the match. In the 76thth minute of the game Jan Telin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Råneå IFK's Ture Wickander was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jan Telin in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ture Wickander prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 86 minutes into the match, Rönnäng IF's Ludwig Eskilsson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ture Wickander narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jan Telin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Ture Wickander tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
