But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alvar Sandberg couldn't finish the play. 6 minutes into the match, Björköby's goal looked a bit too open when Dick Skark came free, but Ulf Eckegren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dick Skark sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Björköby defense, Dick Skark kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ulf Eckegren. The Björköby fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ulf Eckegren should have stopped the shot. Björköby's Ulf Eckegren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alvar Sandberg in the 17th minute of play. 24 minutes into the match, Alvar Sandberg notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Björköby's Ulf Eckegren. Ulf Eckegren was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ulf Eckegren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alvar Sandberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Claret Blue FC's Alvar Sandberg got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Dick Skark had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nils Eklund scored 0-3 in the 33rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ulf Eckegren, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ulf Eckegren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alvar Sandberg in the 37th minute of the match. Ulf Eckegren stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alvar Sandberg's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. In the 42ndth minute of the game Dick Skark who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Björköby's Ulf Eckegren was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 45 minutes into the match, Björköby's goal looked a bit too open when Alvar Sandberg came free, but Ulf Eckegren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 47thth minute of the game Alvar Sandberg who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Björköby's Ulf Eckegren was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alvar Sandberg was the one to do the kick off. After 58 minutes of play, Claret Blue FC's Dick Skark made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ulf Eckegren was left in no man's land by his defense there! Dick Skark fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulf Eckegren having to interfere. If Roy Sjö had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Helge Käller during the 72nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 72 played minutes Björköby got a freekick which was hit by Helge Käller. Björköby's Ulf Eckegren proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Björköby from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Björköby getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Roy Sjö hit a great ball. Alvar Sandberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With an all-out effort, Claret Blue FC's Ulf Eckegren threw himself towards the right post 85 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Alvar Sandberg, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When Alvar Sandberg came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Claret Blue FC fans jumped to their feet. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind Björköby's goalkeeper Ulf Eckegren, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Björköby's Ulf Eckegren proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save Björköby from getting a goal against them. Alvar Sandberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 95th minute, Roy Sjö hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The corner ended in Viktor Drewitz almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Björköby's Ulf Eckegren did a great save. Claret Blue FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
