Henning Casperssons short, quick shot in the 4thth minute got Eric Bengtsson to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Torup IK's Eric Bengtsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Benet in the 5th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomas Benet in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eric Bengtsson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Henning Caspersson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eric Bengtsson having to interfere. 22 minutes into the game, Kurt Jakobsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Torup IK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vretstorp the free kick. The supporters of Vretstorp booed when Torup IK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kurt Jakobsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomas Benet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Torup IK's Kurt Jakobsson got his second yellow card of the match in the 25th minute. The referee ordered Kurt Jakobsson off the ground. In the 26th minute, Kurt Jakobsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Henning Caspersson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Eric Bengtsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Josef Sävström kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Vretstorp were awarded a corner in the 36th minute after Torup IK's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Sture Alegren took the corner. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Torup IK's goalie and right to Gösta Majman. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Torup IK's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Tomas Benet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eric Bengtsson having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Agne Ödman made a kick off. After having played for 53 minutes, Tomas Benet managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vretstorp's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Benet was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 56th minute, Vretstorp's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Agne Ödman fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 58 minutes into the match, Torup IK's goal looked a bit too open when Henning Caspersson came free, but Eric Bengtsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Vretstorp defense, Agne Ödman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sixten Smitt. The Vretstorp fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sixten Smitt should have stopped the shot. In the 63rd match minute, Torup IK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Knut Lidman to maneuver through the defense. Tomas Benet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Eric Bengtsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Henning Caspersson in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eric Bengtsson saved Torup IK from getting behind. If Agne Ödman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Torup IK's Agne Ödman got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 78 minutes into the match, Vretstorp's goal looked a bit too open when Kent Nyqvist came free, but Sixten Smitt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Henning Caspersson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Tomas Benet managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vretstorp's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Benet was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eric Bengtsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 90 played minutes Torup IK got a freekick which was hit by Casper Rydberg. Tomas Benet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Eric Bengtsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tomas Benet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eric Bengtsson having to interfere. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
