Bo-Erik Berg charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bo-Erik Berg the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 18 played minutes Taberg got a freekick which was hit by Bo-Erik Berg. Bror Hägglund blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rutger Hult having to make a save. Jens-Erik Uter struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Johannes Bruhn didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Djurgårdens IF. Johannes Bruhn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jens-Erik Uter, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Jens-Erik Uter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johannes Bruhn having to interfere. In the 36thth minute of the game Rasmus Lundin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Taberg's Johannes Bruhn was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 36 played minutes Taberg got a freekick which was hit by Egil Holmberg. In the 41st match minute, Taberg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bo-Erik Berg to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to Taberg's goalie finding himself so far out he could grab the ball Henrik Nyberg tried to make a shot after getting passed the defense. Johannes Bruhn seemed to really have strength and confidence after that save. After 44 minutes Taberg's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Henrik Nyberg who took care of the corner kick.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bror Hägglund to make the kick off. Jens-Erik Uter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Johannes Bruhn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A hard shot 78 in the game by Jens-Erik Uter from a close distance when the talented Johannes Bruhn managed to make a qualified save. Taberg's players were relieved. After 82 minutes, Egil Holmberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Taberg and the Djurgårdens IF players grew even worse after the yellow card. When the match was over Djurgårdens IF could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Taberg throughout the match.
