Spectators: 7290 (Terracing: 5470, Seating: 1676, VIP seats: 144) Sjulsmark's Ola Åström started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute Jens-Ola Algren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lars Hermansson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonas Törnkvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Dennis Källberg fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sjulsmark's protests and gave Dennis Källberg a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Säve booed when Sjulsmark was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dennis Källberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. 19 minutes into the game, Sjulsmark's Ola Åström nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lars Hermansson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. If Ola Åström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jonas Törnkvist in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Stefan Sjögren prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ola Åström's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lars Hermansson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. If Ola Åström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With an all-out effort, Säve's Stefan Sjögren threw himself towards the right post 35 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jonas Törnkvist, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a defensive mix-up in Sjulsmark's zone, Otto Stabbe stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stefan Sjögren came out of the goal and Otto Stabbe tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ola Åström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lars Hermansson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ola Åström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Otto Stabbe's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Stefan Sjögren firmly grabbed it by the left post. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jonas Törnkvist stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Jon Hermansson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sjulsmark's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Säve the free kick. After a rather tough play, Sjulsmark's Jon Hermansson got a free kick in the 51st minute. Rune Ekberg's late challenge caught a Sjulsmark's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rune Ekberg helped the player get up and apologised. 56 minutes into the match, Säve's goalkeeper Lars Hermansson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jens-Ola Algren. Rune Ekberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jonas Törnkvist in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Stefan Sjögren prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Jens-Ola Algren managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sjulsmark's supporters rose to their feet, but Jens-Ola Algren was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lars Hermansson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Sjulsmark fans' excitement grew in the 80th match minute when Sjulsmark's Ola Åström looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Sjulsmark's Stefan Sjögren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonas Törnkvist in the 84th minute of play. 85 minutes into the match, Säve's Otto Stabbe sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Stefan Sjögren narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
