Hovås's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sixten Karlsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vilhelm Bogren during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Vatostacos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hovås the free kick. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rigoberto Napier to make the kick off. In the 66th minute of the match Olle Alén sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Per-Arne Hedlund skillfully saved the ball. After 71 minutes of play, Hovås's Vidar Jonasson made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sven-Åke Allbom was left in no man's land by his defense there! Vidar Jonasson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Vatostacos's zone, Vidar Jonasson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sven-Åke Allbom came out of the goal and Vidar Jonasson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 89th minute, Eugeniusz Wielgopolski got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Attila Zornánszky blasted a shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Per-Arne Hedlund having to make a save. Per-Arne Hedlund made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rigoberto Napier in the 94th minute of play.
