Allan Tomasson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Jonathan Törnqvist made a huge save. After 3 played minutes FK Nokia got a freekick which was hit by Jan Ahlgren. In the 13th match minute, FK Nokia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Herman Ahlrot to maneuver through the defense. 17 minutes into the match, Stegeborgs IF's goal looked a bit too open when Herman Ahlrot came free, but Roger Salqvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Knut Biörkman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jan Ahlgren took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Roger Salqvist. Roger Salqvist dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. A collision led to FK Nokia getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Jan Ahlgren hit a great ball. 31 minutes into the game, Stegeborgs IF's Allan Tomasson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Törnqvist made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Roger Salqvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leif Palmquist in the 40th minute of play. In the 46th minute, Knut Biörkman ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Roger Salqvist was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Roger Salqvist had great luck who in the 53rdth minute grab hold of the ball when Knut Biörkman from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. 55 minutes into the match, Stegeborgs IF's goal looked a bit too open when Knut Biörkman came free, but Roger Salqvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leif Palmquist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roger Salqvist having to interfere. When Sten Gunnarsson came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the FK Nokia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sten Gunnarsson couldn't finish the play. In the 64th minute, Åke Nordmark left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FK Nokia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. 74 minutes into the match, Stegeborgs IF's goal looked a bit too open when Josef Johansson came free, but Roger Salqvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. FK Nokia were awarded a corner in the 75th minute after Stegeborgs IF's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Herman Ahlrot took the corner. Folke Lindström tried in the game's 76th match minute to clear up in front of his own goal but it went so bad that he put the ball into the goal to the left of an unhappy Roger Salqvist. An annoying self made goal, 2-4. Pontus Lindström charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pontus Lindström the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of FK Nokia booed when Stegeborgs IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pontus Lindström didn't get a good kick on the ball. Knut Biörkman received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Roger Salqvist came out and tried to block the shot, but Knut Biörkman slotted it home off the left post making it 2-5 in the 82nd minute. In the 90thth minute of the game Knut Biörkman who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Stegeborgs IF's Roger Salqvist was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 95th minute, FK Nokia's Knut Biörkman dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-6. When the match was over FK Nokia could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Stegeborgs IF throughout the match.
