Marko Hedman blasted a shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alf Landin having to make a save. In the 17th minute, Reine Dalman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fenerbahce's Manfred Persson got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Christer Pettersson hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. 23 minutes into the match, Stig-Åke Höijer had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alf Landin. Fenerbahce's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Stig-Åke Höijer was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Kåre Forss recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kåre Forss received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Yngve Gummeson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alf Landin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stig-Åke Höijer in the 34th minute of play. 34 minutes into the game, Sven Kvalfält was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fenerbahce's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nora IF the free kick. A collision led to Fenerbahce getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Sven Kvalfält hit a great ball. Stig-Åke Höijer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 42 minutes, Kurt Asklöv mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fenerbahce and the Nora IF players grew even worse after the yellow card. Niklas Österberg placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! In the 47th minute, Marko Hedman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 48 minutes of play Fenerbahce's Sven Kvalfält was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Sven Kvalfält kicked well hit freekick during the 49th minute of the match. Nora IF's Marko Hedman got a good chance for a goal in the 50th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Manfred Persson to make the kick off. Stig-Åke Höijer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Alf Landin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Niclas Rydelius hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Alf Landin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stig-Åke Höijer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manfred Persson in the 73rd minute of play forced Nora IF's goalkeeper Yngve Gummeson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marko Hedman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alf Landin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. If Manfred Persson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 85 minutes into the game, Stig-Åke Höijer lined in a short shot 0-2 behind a frustrated Alf Landin. Marko Hedman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Karl-Oskar Tingberg fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nora IF's protests and gave Karl-Oskar Tingberg a yellow card for diving instead. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Nora IF walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
