In the 9th minute Lars Bergfelt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sten Pihlgren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lars Bergfelt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sten Pihlgren stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Egil Kilstedt's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. Egil Kilstedt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Sten Pihlgren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Klumpesnuskarna IK booed when Hälsö IFK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jakob Frisk didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sten Pihlgren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lars Bergfelt in the 33rd minute of the match. When Stig Nykvist was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 35 minutes had been played. In the 36th minute, Stig Nykvist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Klumpesnuskarna IK's zone, Egil Kilstedt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sten Pihlgren came out of the goal and Egil Kilstedt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and William Björk made a kick off. A collision led to Hälsö IFK getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Lars Bergfelt hit a great ball. After 54 played minutes Hälsö IFK got a freekick which was hit by Lars Bergfelt. 56 minutes into the match, Hälsö IFK's goal looked a bit too open when Freddie Aspengren came free, but Johannes Strand reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Per-Arne Lövskog's late challenge caught a Hälsö IFK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sten Pihlgren came out of the goal in the 65th minute to try and stop a shot by Hälsö IFK's Egil Kilstedt. But to his dismay, Egil Kilstedt quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Freddie Aspengren managed to get in a good position for a shot. Klumpesnuskarna IK's supporters rose to their feet, but Freddie Aspengren was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Johannes Strand breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If William Björk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Egil Kilstedt got free with Sten Pihlgren in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Egil Kilstedt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sten Pihlgren read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. Lars Bergfelt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sten Pihlgren having to interfere. Hälsö IFK's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
