The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Bernt Njurenius made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Jan-Erik Askelöf sent off a good shot on target. In the 15th minute there was a penalty for Grunden BOIS. Sune Åkerström stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Harald Deckbergh. 0-1. Harald Deckbergh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Harry Sjödin in the 22nd minute of the match. Jan-Erik Askelöf's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bernt Njurenius read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. After 27 minutes, Mårten Wiberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Grunden BOIS and the Aneby RK players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 27th minute, Mårten Wiberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Andreas Utter, 28 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Grunden BOIS's zone, Torbjörn Stenström stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernt Njurenius came out of the goal and Torbjörn Stenström tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aneby RK's Jan-Erik Askelöf got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bernt Njurenius took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Torbjörn Stenström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aneby RK's Harald Deckbergh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Harry Sjödin in the 38th minute of play. 44 minutes into the match, Grunden BOIS's goalkeeper Bernt Njurenius had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jan-Erik Askelöf. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Jan-Erik Askelöf managed to get in a good position for a shot. Aneby RK's supporters rose to their feet, but Jan-Erik Askelöf was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bernt Njurenius breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Aneby RK players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Grunden BOIS were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Torbjörn Stenström to make the kick off. Jan-Erik Askelöf received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Bernt Njurenius tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Torbjörn Stenström came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Aneby RK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Torbjörn Stenström couldn't finish the play. Arne Öfverman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Aneby RK's Harald Deckbergh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Harry Sjödin in the 60th minute of play. In the 67th minute, Arne Öfverman left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Grunden BOIS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Bernt Njurenius took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Torbjörn Stenström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Harry Sjödin in the 76th minute of play forced Aneby RK's goalkeeper Harald Deckbergh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bernt Njurenius showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jan-Erik Askelöf in the 77th minute of the match. 80 minutes into the match, Jan-Erik Askelöf had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bernt Njurenius. Grunden BOIS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jan-Erik Askelöf was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. The supporters of Grunden BOIS booed when Aneby RK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andreas Utter didn't get a good kick on the ball. Harry Sjödin was extremely unlucky when he, in the 89th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. If Östen Frykberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Harald Deckbergh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Harry Sjödin, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. The supporters of Aneby RK booed when Grunden BOIS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arne Öfverman didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Grunden BOIS eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
