The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute Marcus Klintæus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joel Källberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Henry Gullesson hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Jesper Stenquist struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Joel Källberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Malmö FF. Henry Gullesson's late challenge caught a Malmö FF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Henry Gullesson helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Hammarby IF's Henry Gullesson got a free kick in the 8th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Arne Wikander managed to get in a good position for a shot. Malmö FF's supporters rose to their feet, but Arne Wikander was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joel Källberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jesper Stenquist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joel Källberg having to interfere. The supporters of Malmö FF booed when Hammarby IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stig Ahlström didn't get a good kick on the ball. Malmö FF's Gustaf Grönlund couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 18th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Hammarby IF. Tobias Carlsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Malcolm Blomberg in the 20th minute of the match. In the 21st minute Marcus Klintæus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joel Källberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tobias Carlsson came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Hammarby IF's Christer Brummer. But to his dismay, Christer Brummer quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 25th match minute, Hammarby IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joakim Nordin to maneuver through the defense. Marcus Klintæus might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joel Källberg. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marcus Klintæus ran back to his position shaking his head. If Roger Hedman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Malmö FF's Marcus Klintæus got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jesper Stenquist in the 40thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Joel Källberg, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When Roger Hedman came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Malmö FF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roger Hedman couldn't finish the play. Jesper Stenquists short, quick shot in the 44thth minute got Joel Källberg to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Tobias Carlsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Malcolm Blomberg in the 46th minute of the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Malcolm Blomberg to make the kick off. Joel Källberg came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Malmö FF's Jesper Stenquist. But to his dismay, Jesper Stenquist quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Gustaf Grönlund sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marcus Klintæus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 60 minutes into the game, Malmö FF's Gustaf Grönlund nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Joel Källberg made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Joel Källberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jesper Stenquist in the 63rd minute of play. 66 minutes into the game, Dan Rosen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Malmö FF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hammarby IF the free kick. Dan Rosen hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. After having played for 70 minutes, Marcus Klintæus managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Malmö FF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcus Klintæus was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dan Rosen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Joel Källberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Malmö FF's Jesper Stenquist in the 73rd minute got a chance for a shot 73rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Hammarby IF's goalie prevented a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jesper Stenquist in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joel Källberg saved Hammarby IF from getting behind. Joel Källberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustaf Grönlund, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcus Klintæus scored 4-1 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Joel Källberg, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 96 minutes into the game, Malmö FF's Gustaf Grönlund nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Joel Källberg made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-1. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Malmö FF had played much better football throughout.
