The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Örebro IK's Stig-Ove Wahlnäs got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Kågeröd booed when Örebro IK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Johannes Östlund didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gustav Ekström during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 10th match minute, Örebro IK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gustav Ekström to maneuver through the defense. After 13 played minutes Örebro IK got a freekick which was hit by Jörgen Martinsson. Torsten Danielsson took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 14th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gustaf Näver. Örebro IK's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Andy Andreasson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustaf Näver having to interfere. Stig-Ove Wahlnäs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kågeröd's Karl-Erik Lindman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustav Ekström in the 23rd minute of play. In the 28th minute Örebro IK were awarded a corner. Pontus Petersson went to the cornerflag to take it. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Gustav Ekström advanced and headed the ball into goal, 0-1 in the 29th minute. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Kågeröd's goalkeeper Karl-Erik Lindman, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 39 minutes into the match, Kågeröd's goal looked a bit too open when Gustav Ekström came free, but Karl-Erik Lindman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 40th match minute, Kågeröd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Georg Strandberg to maneuver through the defense. Karl-Erik Lindman came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Örebro IK's Gustav Ekström. But to his dismay, Gustav Ekström quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gustav Ekström stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gustaf Näver stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Andy Andreasson's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. If Andy Andreasson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Isak Nyman fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Örebro IK's protests and gave Isak Nyman a yellow card for diving instead. In the 59th minute, Isak Nyman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gustav Ekström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Karl-Erik Lindman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 65 played minutes Kågeröd got a freekick which was hit by Torsten Danielsson. Gustav Ekström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gustav Ekström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karl-Erik Lindman having to interfere. When Isak Nyman was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 78 minutes had been played. In the 78th minute, Isak Nyman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gustaf Näver took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andy Andreasson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 81 minutes, Andy Andreasson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kågeröd's supporters crossed their fingers, but Andy Andreasson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Johannes Hök sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gustav Ekström hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. In the 96th minute, Andy Andreasson made a precise shot to the right of Gustaf Näver. Örebro IK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2.
