The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Bernt Kjellman was extremely unlucky when he, in the 21st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Jan-Erik Wallgren charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jan-Erik Wallgren the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jan-Erik Wallgren hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Jörn Tomasson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joacim Lindgren having to interfere. 32 minutes into the game, Bernt Kjellman recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Kalle Björk. Bernt Kjellman showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. After a rather tough play, Knohult IF's Edward Gustafsson got a free kick in the 36th minute. After 44 minutes, Peter Fernström mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tanumshede IK and the Knohult IF players grew even worse after the yellow card. Peter Fernström hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Tobias Sjögren managed to get in a good position for a shot. Knohult IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Tobias Sjögren was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kalle Björk breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

The wind increased when Bernt Kjellman made the kick off in the second half. Bernt Kjellman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kalle Björk having to interfere. After 54 played minutes Knohult IF got a freekick which was hit by Tobias Sjögren. Jörn Tomasson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tobias Sjögren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kalle Björk having to interfere. 68 minutes into the match, Tanumshede IK's goal looked a bit too open when Tobias Sjögren came free, but Kalle Björk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 68 played minutes Tanumshede IK got a freekick which was hit by Peter Fernström. Tanumshede IK's Kalle Björk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernt Kjellman in the 70th minute of play. After having played for 73 minutes, Jörn Tomasson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tanumshede IK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jörn Tomasson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Bernt Kjellman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bernt Kjellman blasted a shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kalle Björk having to make a save. In the 87th match minute, Tanumshede IK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Peter Fernström to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tobias Sjögren in the 91st minute of play forced Tanumshede IK's goalkeeper Kalle Björk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bernt Kjellman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Knohult IF players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
