A hard shot by Ove Giliusson from long distance, 27 minutes into the match, got Gustav Fogel's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 29thth minute of the game Börje Gerdberg who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hillerstorp's John Rosén was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jens-Åke Holmgren could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Gustav Fogel made a huge save. Börje Gerdberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. John Rosén tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Viktor Finnman was slow to take the kick. During this time Hjälteby IK's players had a chance to rest. It was a well-played corner which Tor Jonsson managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Börje Gerdberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without John Rosén having to interfere. Jakob Bengtsson charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jakob Bengtsson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Börje Gerdberg to strike the kick off in the second half. With his leg John Rosén managed to avoid a goal in the 62ndth minute, when Hjälteby IK's Sture Överman fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Börje Gerdberg in the 63rd minute of play forced Hillerstorp's goalkeeper John Rosén to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hjälteby IK's Viktor Finnman broke free in the 66th minute of the match and struck a powerful long shot that almost became a goal, but instead the ball went outside the right post. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When the match clock showed 87 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Sture Överman sped through Hillerstorp's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of John Rosén. Sture Överman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but John Rosén read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play. If Börje Gerdberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Börje Gerdberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
