Hammarby Junior's supporters rose to their feet, but Hjalmar Sjöberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gustav Fogel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Hjalmar Sjöberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stig Ahlberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Gustav Fogel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hammarby Junior's Patrick Frisck played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Börje Gerdberg in the 19th minute of play. 21 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Hjälteby IK's Börje Gerdberg fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. 24 minutes into the game, Hjälteby IK's Sture Överman nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Patrick Frisck made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Hjälteby IK's zone, Hjalmar Sjöberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gustav Fogel came out of the goal and Hjalmar Sjöberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Patrick Frisck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Börje Gerdberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 35th match minute, Hjälteby IK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sture Överman to maneuver through the defense. 37 minutes into the match, Hammarby Junior's Hjalmar Sjöberg sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gustav Fogel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 38 minutes into the match, Sture Överman notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Hammarby Junior's Patrick Frisck. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Hjälteby IK reached it.

In the 53rd minute, Sture Överman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sture Överman in the 57th minute of play forced Hammarby Junior's goalkeeper Patrick Frisck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 63 minutes, Sture Överman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hjälteby IK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sture Överman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Patrick Frisck showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Börje Gerdberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. The audience was convinced that Sture Överman's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Patrick Frisck was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. Patrick Frisck showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sture Överman in the 96th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Börje Gerdberg in the 97th minute of play forced Hammarby Junior's goalkeeper Patrick Frisck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
