The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Gränna IF getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Christian Jelm hit a great ball. Linus Wallin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Conny Ström in the 8th minute of the match. Björn Dahlberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andréas Olsmann having to interfere. Simon Lindberg struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Linus Wallin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hedesunda IK. Tim Josefsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Andréas Olsmann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Linus Wallin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Simon Lindberg in the 17th minute of play. Andréas Olsmann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tim Josefsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Hedesunda IK's Jonas Nordin got a free kick in the 28th minute. In the 32ndth minute of the game Conny Ström who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gränna IF's Linus Wallin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tim Josefsson in the 37th minute of play forced Hedesunda IK's goalkeeper Andréas Olsmann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 41 minutes, Conny Ström made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Gränna IF's Linus Wallin tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Kåre Österberg charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kåre Österberg the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Hedesunda IK's Andréas Olsmann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tim Josefsson in the 45th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Simon Lindberg made the kick off in the second half. 60 minutes into the match, Gränna IF's goal looked a bit too open when Simon Lindberg came free, but Linus Wallin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Simon Lindberg in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Linus Wallin saved Gränna IF from getting behind.
