Inverterad YB's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kåre Samuelsson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 23rd minute Georg Danielsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sven-Ove Fastesson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 26 minutes into the match, Egil Hammarbäck had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sven-Ove Fastesson. Kurt Hedin made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Sven Karlsson sent off a good shot on target. 40 minutes into the match, Inverterad YB's goal looked a bit too open when Egil Hammarbäck came free, but Sven-Ove Fastesson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sven Karlsson was the one to do the kick off. After 56 played minutes Inverterad YB got a freekick which was hit by Rickard Göransson. In the 58th minute of the match Stig-Åke Sundberg shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sven-Ove Fastesson showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sven Karlsson in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kurt Hedin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 60th minute, Leif Hernström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Inverterad YB's Sven Karlsson in the 61st minute got a chance for a shot 61st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Lerum's goalie prevented a goal. The supporters of Lerum booed when Inverterad YB was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elof Björklund didn't get a good kick on the ball. Inverterad YB's Sven Karlsson got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 71st minute, Kåre Samuelsson made a precise shot to the right of Sven-Ove Fastesson. Inverterad YB's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. Rasmus Lundberg might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kurt Hedin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rasmus Lundberg ran back to his position shaking his head. Sven-Ove Fastesson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Georg Danielsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Elof Björklund missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 85 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Kurt Hedin right hand side. When Isac Högberg fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lerum's protests and gave Isac Högberg a yellow card for diving instead. After 87 played minutes Lerum got a freekick which was hit by Isac Högberg. After a defensive mix-up in Lerum's zone, Sven Karlsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kurt Hedin came out of the goal and Sven Karlsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Inverterad YB's Sven-Ove Fastesson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Egil Hammarbäck in the 94th minute of play. Kurt Hedin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rasmus Lundberg in the 96th minute of the match. The Lerum players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
