Sebastian Stål made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rutger Lindholm in the 3rd minute of play. Vilgot Wennerlund's late challenge caught a Bankeryd's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vilgot Wennerlund helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Ekeby IK's Vilgot Wennerlund got a free kick in the 7th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rutger Lindholm in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sebastian Stål prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rutger Lindholm received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Sebastian Stål tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mark Gudmundsson was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Dan Källberg showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 16 minute of play. In the 19th minute, Dan Källberg left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ekeby IK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Rutger Lindholm sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Olov Lundin charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Olov Lundin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Olov Lundin kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. The supporters of Ekeby IK booed when Bankeryd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rutger Lindholm didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dan Källberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mark Gudmundsson having to interfere. When Dan Källberg came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Ekeby IK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dan Källberg couldn't finish the play. In the 47th match minute, Bankeryd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henning Månsson to maneuver through the defense. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Rutger Lindholm made the kick off in the second half. Rutger Lindholm recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Edwin Ström kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Sebastian Stål made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Peder Bank sent off a good shot on target. Rutger Lindholm struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Sebastian Stål didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bankeryd. Mark Gudmundsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dan Källberg in the 63rd minute of play. Peder Bank might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sebastian Stål. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Peder Bank ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, Ekeby IK's Sebastian Stål got control of the ball when Peder Bank tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Bankeryd's zone, Jonatan Dahlberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mark Gudmundsson came out of the goal and Jonatan Dahlberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Dan Källberg came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Ekeby IK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dan Källberg couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dan Källberg in the 82nd minute of play forced Bankeryd's goalkeeper Mark Gudmundsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rasmus Odeen's late challenge caught a Bankeryd's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rasmus Odeen helped the player get up and apologised. Rasmus Odeen kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Mark Gudmundsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dan Källberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Ekeby IK's Dan Källberg got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 95 minutes into the match, Ekeby IK's Dan Källberg sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mark Gudmundsson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Vilgot Wennerlund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Ekeby IK had won after a very even match.
