Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Bengt Hylander kicked off to start the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bengt Hylander in the 3rd minute of play forced FF Downies's goalkeeper Viktor Vallengren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 5 minutes, Bengt Hylander took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Viktor Vallengren to make any attempt to save it. Gösta Löfskog fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Viktor Vallengren having to interfere. Mathias Olsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gösta Löfskog in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Viktor Vallengren saved FF Downies from getting behind. 26 minutes into the game, Nils-Erik Strandberg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Österbymo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FF Downies the free kick. A collision led to Österbymo getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Nils-Erik Strandberg hit a great ball. Lars-Erik Koch took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hans Zachrisson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 30th match minute, Österbymo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nils-Erik Strandberg to maneuver through the defense. When Bengt Hylander came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Österbymo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bengt Hylander couldn't finish the play. In the 41st match minute, Österbymo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nils-Erik Strandberg to maneuver through the defense. In the 42nd minute, Hans Zachrisson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FF Downies fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. When Brian Lundberg fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FF Downies's protests and gave Brian Lundberg a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to FF Downies getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Brian Lundberg hit a great ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marc Vallmark to make the kick off. Hans Zachrisson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lars-Erik Koch having to interfere. In the 63rd minute Marc Vallmark shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lars-Erik Koch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marc Vallmark received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Lars-Erik Koch tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 75th minute Bengt Hylander shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Viktor Vallengren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hans Zachrisson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lars-Erik Koch having to interfere. In the 83rd minute, one of Österbymo:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Österbymo. During the 92nd minute of the match Brian Lundberg completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Brian Lundberg a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to FF Downies getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Brian Lundberg hit a great ball. Lars-Erik Koch showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bengt-Rune Ekman in the 98th minute of the match. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. FF Downies had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
