After a defensive mix-up in Åhus IF's zone, Bengt Runeberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Casper Bredberg came out of the goal and Bengt Runeberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Bengt Runeberg's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Casper Bredberg was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. Bengt Runeberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bengt Runeberg in the 11th minute of play forced Åhus IF's goalkeeper Casper Bredberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 13th minute George Persson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Åke Kellman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bengt Runeberg took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Casper Bredberg. Casper Bredberg dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Åke Kellman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elias Möllgren in the 20th minute of the match. Åhus IF were furious when Torsten Törnkvist was red carded, 22 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 21 minutes into the game, one of Åhus IF:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 24th minute there was a penalty for Syrianska FC. Kåre Gunnarsson stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Casper Bredberg. 0-2. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bengt Runeberg in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. In the 29th match minute, Åhus IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elliott Bark to maneuver through the defense. Casper Bredberg made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Syrianska FC's Nils-Emil Eklund got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bengt Runeberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Casper Bredberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 46 played minutes Åhus IF got a freekick which was hit by Gert Byström. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bengt Runeberg was the one to do the kick off. 56 minutes into the match, Åhus IF's goalkeeper Casper Bredberg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kåre Gunnarsson. The supporters of Syrianska FC booed when Åhus IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elias Möllgren didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Syrianska FC's Bengt Runeberg slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Casper Bredberg. That made the score 1-4 after 59 minutes of play. If Elof Pedersson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The Syrianska FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-5. After a rather tough play, Åhus IF's Karl-Åke Ahlén got a free kick in the 71st minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Syrianska FC's Nils-Emil Eklund slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Casper Bredberg. That made the score 1-6 after 74 minutes of play. In the 78th minute Hubert Salqvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Casper Bredberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 79thth minute of the game Bengt Runeberg who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Åhus IF's Casper Bredberg was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 81st minute, Nils-Emil Eklund hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Nils-Emil Eklund kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Casper Bredberg. That made the score 1-7 in the 84 minute of play. Hubert Salqvist might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Casper Bredberg. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hubert Salqvist ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bengt Runeberg got free with Casper Bredberg in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Åhus IF fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Syrianska FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
