When the match had been going on for 13 minutes, Manchester United's Sigvard Hansson got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Erland Åman. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Alfons Granström managed to get in a good position for a shot. Manchester United's supporters rose to their feet, but Alfons Granström was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Erland Åman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Johan Sjöberg charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Johan Sjöberg the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Manchester United's Johan Sjöberg got a free kick in the 23rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Johan Sjöberg in the 26th minute of play forced Tyresö FF's goalkeeper Erland Åman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Tyresö FF's Tage Frisck got a free kick in the 26th minute. The audience was convinced that Johan Sjöberg's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Erland Åman was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. Erland Åman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Johan Sjöberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Alfons Granström could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Erland Åman made a huge save. When Tage Frisck fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tyresö FF's protests and gave Tage Frisck a yellow card for diving instead. Tage Frisck hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Michel Boström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tobias Fredriksson having to interfere. Tage Frisck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Michel Boström recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

In the 51st minute, Walter Nordal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfons Granström in the 53rd minute of play forced Tyresö FF's goalkeeper Erland Åman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 55th match minute, Tyresö FF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tage Frisck to maneuver through the defense. In the 56th minute of the match Sigvard Hansson sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Erland Åman skillfully saved the ball. After a rather tough play, Manchester United's Andreas Dalström got a free kick in the 57th minute. In the 65th match minute, Tyresö FF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hannes Westerstrand to maneuver through the defense. Johan Sjöberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Erland Åman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Alfons Granström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Johan Sjöberg in the 71st minute of play forced Tyresö FF's goalkeeper Erland Åman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Manchester United's Tobias Fredriksson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Manchester United from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Manchester United's zone, Michel Boström stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tobias Fredriksson came out of the goal and Michel Boström tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 88th minute Johan Sjöberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erland Åman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 92 minutes into the match, Manchester United's goalkeeper Tobias Fredriksson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Michel Boström. Alfons Granström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erland Åman having to interfere. The Tyresö FF players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Manchester United from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
