In the 19th minute, Torgny Lindholm hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 21 minutes, Sverker Lenberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sundbyberg and the Järnkaninerna players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 21st minute of the game. One of Sundbyberg:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Järnkaninerna:s goal. Bo Kellbom placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Jarl Samuelsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leif Käcker in the 29th minute of the match. Sundbyberg's Henrik Helberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joachim Fernström in the 31st minute of play. Henrik Helberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joachim Fernström, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Leif Käcker hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. In the 36thth minute of the game Joachim Fernström who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sundbyberg's Henrik Helberg was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Henrik Helberg came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by Järnkaninerna's Gert Stenberg. But to his dismay, Gert Stenberg quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Henrik Helberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gert Stenberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. After the first half Järnkaninerna were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Leif Käcker made a kick off. Tony Näfver charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tony Näfver the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 57th match minute, Järnkaninerna was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tony Näfver to maneuver through the defense. Henrik Helberg acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 60th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Tony Näfver. In the 67th minute Gert Stenberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henrik Helberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gert Stenberg's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 71stth minute, Henrik Helberg skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 77th minute, Jonatan Boklund made a precise shot to the right of Jarl Samuelsson. Järnkaninerna's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. In the 84th minute Gert Stenberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henrik Helberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gert Stenberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 89 played minutes Sundbyberg got a freekick which was hit by Ture Borre. Joachim Fernström did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-3 to the left of a surprised Henrik Helberg 91 minutes into the match. Sundbyberg's Leif Käcker got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Järnkaninerna's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
