The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some careless play in the Lokomotiv Tåg defense, Gunnar Sikström kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Karl-Erik Waller. The Lokomotiv Tåg fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Karl-Erik Waller should have stopped the shot. In the 8th minute, Sven-Ove Lindell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 9th minute Robin Uggstedt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl-Erik Waller saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Lokomotiv Tåg defense, Gunnar Sikström kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Karl-Erik Waller. The Lokomotiv Tåg fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Karl-Erik Waller should have stopped the shot. Bäckahall IF's defense didn't have a chance, in the 15th minute, when Kåre Vennersten scored to the left of an out of position Alvar Botvidsson, making the score, 1-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gunnar Sikström in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Karl-Erik Waller saved Lokomotiv Tåg from getting behind. Kåre Vennersten kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. After 28 minutes, Sven-Erik Bolin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bäckahall IF and the Lokomotiv Tåg players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 28 played minutes Bäckahall IF got a freekick which was hit by Sven-Erik Bolin. Karl-Erik Waller showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gunnar Sikström, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. In the 31st minute, Erhard Stein hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 32nd minute of the match Torgny Västberg sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Karl-Erik Waller skillfully saved the ball. Gunnar Sikström took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Karl-Erik Waller. Karl-Erik Waller dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. The supporters of Bäckahall IF booed when Lokomotiv Tåg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Billy Söderquist didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bäckahall IF's Torgny Västberg took a good shot, in the 48th minute, which hit the crossbar above Karl-Erik Waller's head, and flew over the goal. Lokomotiv Tåg's manager was very thankful on the sidelines as his team had managed to keep the ball out of the net after some serious pressure by Bäckahall IF. The Lokomotiv Tåg players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Bäckahall IF were winning 1-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gunnar Sikström stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 55th match minute, Lokomotiv Tåg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sven-Ove Lindell to maneuver through the defense. Lokomotiv Tåg's Karl-Erik Waller proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Lokomotiv Tåg from getting a goal against them. Bäckahall IF's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Torgny Västberg in the 59th minute. Karl-Erik Waller made an important save on a dangerous shot by Robin Uggstedt in the 62nd minute. After 63 played minutes Lokomotiv Tåg got a freekick which was hit by Henry Andreasson. Kåre Vennersten struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Alvar Botvidsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lokomotiv Tåg. In the 67th minute, Magnus Thorsberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 68 minutes, Okan Tinglöv managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lokomotiv Tåg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Okan Tinglöv was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Karl-Erik Waller made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gunnar Sikström in the 77th minute. 81 minutes into the match, Lokomotiv Tåg's goalkeeper Karl-Erik Waller had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Robin Uggstedt. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robin Uggstedt in the 82nd minute of play forced Lokomotiv Tåg's goalkeeper Karl-Erik Waller to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Gunnar Sikström came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Bäckahall IF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gunnar Sikström couldn't finish the play. 86 minutes into the match, Lokomotiv Tåg's goal looked a bit too open when Gunnar Sikström came free, but Karl-Erik Waller reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Bäckahall IF walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
