The crowd rose to their feet as Morgan Hägg kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Andreas Lindgren. That made the score 1-0 in the 11 minute of play. Åke Lindell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Knut Gernberg in the 15th minute of the match. 19 minutes into the match, Åsljunga BK's goalkeeper Andreas Lindgren had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sven-Olof Algren. In the 22ndth minute of the game Knut Gernberg who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Slutarp's Åke Lindell was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Claes Gustafsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Åke Lindell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Slutarp's Sven-Olof Algren got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Morgan Hägg made a kick off. Knut Gernberg struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Åke Lindell didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Åsljunga BK. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Morgan Hägg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Slutarp's supporters rose to their feet, but Morgan Hägg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Andreas Lindgren breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Knut Gernberg got free with Åke Lindell in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 73 minutes into the match, Slutarp's goal looked a bit too open when Claes Gustafsson came free, but Åke Lindell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Claes Gustafsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Åke Lindell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claes Gustafsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. If Morgan Hägg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Claes Gustafsson's late challenge caught a Slutarp's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Claes Gustafsson helped the player get up and apologised. The corner ended in Mattias Isaksson almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Åsljunga BK's Andreas Lindgren did a great save.
