The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a little luck, Pox's Ivar Odman got control of the ball when Bengt Fastesson tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience was convinced that Peter Stenkvist's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nicklas Salqvist was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. Marc Blom recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bengt Fastesson took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ivar Odman. Ivar Odman dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Torpshammar IF's Marc Blom got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ivar Odman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marc Blom, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pox's Peter Stenkvist got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marc Blom struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Ivar Odman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Torpshammar IF. After a defensive mix-up in Torpshammar IF's zone, Gabriel Olsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nicklas Salqvist came out of the goal and Gabriel Olsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Peter Stenkvist in the 40th minute of play forced Torpshammar IF's goalkeeper Nicklas Salqvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 43rd match minute, Torpshammar IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bengt-Arne Lundblad to maneuver through the defense. Pox's Max Berglund couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 44th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Torpshammar IF. Nicklas Salqvist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gabriel Olsson in the 46th minute of the match. Nicklas Salqvist didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gabriel Olsson went, in the 48th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Marc Blom to strike the kick off in the second half.
