When Georg Siöberg fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sköldinge IF's protests and gave Georg Siöberg a yellow card for diving instead. 37 minutes into the game, one of Sköldinge IF:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 40th minute there was a penalty for Påryd. Karl-Michael Brolin stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Sten Häll. 1-1. In the 46th minute, Mattias Qvalfeldt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Peter Jernberg to make the kick off. Olov Giöck succeeded in the game's 55th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-2. Påryd's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sköldinge IF the free kick. Olov Giöck hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. After having played for 90 minutes, Mattias Qvalfeldt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Påryd's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mattias Qvalfeldt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Sköldinge IF's zone, Tommy Lövgren stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sten Häll came out of the goal and Tommy Lövgren tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 93rd minute Mattias Qvalfeldt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sten Häll saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
