Gunnar Axelsson scored 1-1 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Patrik Målare, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. BUN Pöjkarna's Johan Vestberg got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nils-Åke Lövskog fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joacim Alén having to interfere. Emil Benett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 22nd minute, Tord Brummer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Emil Benett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 26 minutes into the game, Skillingaryd's Gunnar Axelsson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Patrik Målare made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Nils-Åke Lövskog sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. In the 35th minute of the match, Johan Vestberg tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Joacim Alén saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The referee ignored Skillingaryd's protests and gave Rutger Samuelsson a yellow card for diving instead. In the 36th match minute, Skillingaryd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rutger Samuelsson to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Skillingaryd's zone, Johan Vestberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joacim Alén came out of the goal and Johan Vestberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Johan Vestberg was the one to do the kick off. In the 60th minute Gunnar Axelsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patrik Målare saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 62 played minutes Skillingaryd got a freekick which was hit by Conny Lundgren. Martin Öman kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. In the 65th minute, Gunnar Axelsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 67th minute, Skillingaryd's Gunnar Axelsson ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Patrik Målare. Patrik Målare yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-3. 74 minutes into the match, BUN Pöjkarna's goal looked a bit too open when Gunnar Axelsson came free, but Patrik Målare reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 78th minute, Johan Vestberg made a precise shot to the right of Joacim Alén. Skillingaryd's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-3. BUN Pöjkarna's supporters rose to their feet, but Nils-Åke Lövskog was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joacim Alén breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Skillingaryd's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
