The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The strömspojkarna fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sonny Lundqvist should have stopped the shot. strömspojkarna's Sonny Lundqvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Per-Åke Drewitz in the 18th minute of play. Kim Isaksson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Erland Apelquist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sonny Lundqvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erland Apelquist in the 37th minute of play. Kim Isaksson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. The wind increased when Bror Strömqvist made the kick off in the second half. Kim Isaksson might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sven-Åke Arhenius. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kim Isaksson ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Kim Isaksson managed to get in a good position for a shot. strömspojkarna's supporters rose to their feet, but Kim Isaksson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sven-Åke Arhenius breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Stefan Juhlin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kim Isaksson in the 63rd minute of play forced Älmhult FF's goalkeeper Sven-Åke Arhenius to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ralf Harman during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 77 played minutes strömspojkarna got a freekick which was hit by Ralf Harman. 82 minutes into the match, Bror Strömqvist dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Sonny Lundqvist, 0-3. In the 87th minute Bror Strömqvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sonny Lundqvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Per-Åke Drewitz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Älmhult FF had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
