Tobias Lundberg kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Stig-Ove Larsson didn't quite understand what happened when in the 5 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. In the 15thth minute of the game Rickard Hagberg who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Skarpnäck's Sune Lundin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 24thth minute of the game Carl Apelquist who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ashburton Grove FC's Anders Carlberg was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 28th minute, Rickard Hagberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Skarpnäck's Olof Burman got a free kick in the 35th minute. Rickard Hagberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Ashburton Grove FC booed when Skarpnäck was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jimmy Lennartsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The supporters of Ashburton Grove FC booed when Skarpnäck was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jimmy Lennartsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 53rd minute, Stig-Ove Larsson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sune Lundin was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Sixten Nyberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sune Lundin having to interfere. Sune Lundin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rickard Hagberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rickard Hagberg in the 87th minute of play forced Skarpnäck's goalkeeper Sune Lundin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rickard Hagberg in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sune Lundin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 96 minutes, Sonny Bergman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ashburton Grove FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sonny Bergman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee ended the match the Ashburton Grove FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
