Fenerbahce's supporters rose to their feet, but Conny Isaksson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Magnus Petersson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 18thth minute of the game Sten Alströmer who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fenerbahce's Johnny Hultin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 19th match minute, Fenerbahce was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Petersson to maneuver through the defense. Verner Rydelius fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johnny Hultin having to interfere. In the 31st minute, Conny Isaksson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal.
