After a rather tough play, Älmhult FK's Carl Drake got a free kick in the 4th minute. Älmhult FK's Magnus Petersson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emanuel Söder in the 13th minute of play. Patrik Joensson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Verner Rydelius in the 14th minute of the match. If Melker Forsman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 21 minutes, Melker Forsman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dark Star's supporters crossed their fingers, but Melker Forsman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Melker Forsman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Dark Star's zone, Sten Alströmer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Patrik Joensson came out of the goal and Sten Alströmer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Sten Alströmer put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Patrik Joensson. The audience was convinced that Sten Alströmer's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Patrik Joensson was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. A collision led to Dark Star getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. André Aleberg hit a great ball. Sten Alströmer's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Patrik Joensson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. Melker Forsman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Magnus Petersson having to interfere. After the first half Älmhult FK were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sten Alströmer was the one to do the kick off. Patrik Joensson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sten Alströmer in the 57th minute of play. In the 58th minute, Melker Forsman ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Magnus Petersson was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Michael Johnsson, 63 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. A collision led to Dark Star getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. André Aleberg hit a great ball. 66 minutes in the game, Verner Rydelius dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Älmhult FK's zone, Melker Forsman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Magnus Petersson came out of the goal and Melker Forsman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Melker Forsman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Magnus Petersson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 74th minute, Verner Rydelius made a precise shot to the right of Patrik Joensson. Dark Star's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. After 78 minutes of play, Dark Star's Melker Forsman made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Magnus Petersson was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 84th minute, Dark Star's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Sten Alströmer fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. A collision led to Älmhult FK getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Krister Forsman hit a great ball. If Emanuel Söder had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dark Star's Emanuel Söder got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
