When Wilhelm Dusett fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vrena's protests and gave Wilhelm Dusett a yellow card for diving instead. After 29 played minutes Vrena got a freekick which was hit by Wilhelm Dusett. Kåre Grönlund could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Vincent Klemensson made a huge save. Sven-Åke Gustafsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Sven-Åke Gustafsson came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Linköping fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sven-Åke Gustafsson couldn't finish the play. Vincent Klemensson didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 43rd minute, which inside left pole to 2-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Vincent Klemensson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kåre Grönlund, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Sven-Åke Gustafsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vincent Klemensson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kåre Grönlund in the 54th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Vrena's Axel Tinglöf got a free kick in the 56th minute. Alvar Löv made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Stefan Lövskog sent off a good shot on target. Johannes Stålman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alvar Löv was out of position in the 76 minute of play, and Johannes Stålman capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Johannes Stålman really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. 82 minutes into the match, Kåre Grönlund notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Vrena's Vincent Klemensson. Vincent Klemensson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Vincent Klemensson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sven-Åke Gustafsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vincent Klemensson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kåre Grönlund in the 90th minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Vrena players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Linköping.
