Spectators: 7155 (Terracing: 5477, Seating: 1678, VIP seats: 0) Walter Bogren started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. The supporters of Intagets IF booed when Linköping was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sune Rolandsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the game's 4th minute Intagets IF's Mattias Erserman took a hard shot from long distance, a kick which went into the net just to the right of Alvar Löv and thus the score was 0-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Walter Bogren in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alvar Löv prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Kåre Linberg kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. In the 32nd minute, Kim Salkvist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 35th minute, Kåre Grönlund ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Felix Berglund was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. If Sven-Åke Gustafsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 42nd match minute, Intagets IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nils-Erik Björklund to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kåre Grönlund got free with Felix Berglund in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Felix Berglund made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sven-Åke Gustafsson in the 52nd minute of play. A collision led to Linköping getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Leif Brogren hit a great ball. Intagets IF's Mattias Erserman couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 60th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Linköping. Walter Bogren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Alvar Löv tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sven-Åke Gustafsson struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Felix Berglund didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Linköping. 67 minutes into the match, Intagets IF's goal looked a bit too open when Sven-Åke Gustafsson came free, but Felix Berglund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 69 minutes Intagets IF's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Rudolf Brogren who took care of the corner kick. Felix Berglund made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kåre Grönlund in the 76th minute of play. Walter Bogren kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. After having played for 83 minutes, Kåre Grönlund managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Linköping's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kåre Grönlund was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Walter Bogren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Walter Bogren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
