Sonny Vallengren dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Jan-Åke Örtendahl struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Sonny Vallengren didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for West End United. Jesper Hökkvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jonatan Björnberg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joseph Gadd's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. After a rather tough play, Helgum's Stig-Ove Söderkvist got a free kick in the 29th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Karl-Erik Sjöberg during the 30th minute. In the 52nd minute, Kent Kråk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 56 minutes into the match, West End United's goal looked a bit too open when Jesper Hökkvist came free, but Jonatan Björnberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 59th minute by Jan-Åke Örtendahl got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. West End United's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After 86 played minutes, Helgum's Philip Wallengren shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jonatan Björnberg came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Helgum reached it. Stellan Fredriksson's late challenge caught a Helgum's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Stellan Fredriksson helped the player get up and apologised. After 87 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for West End United! Philip Wallengren walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Jonatan Björnberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joseph Gadd in the 93rd minute of play. Jesper Hökkvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonatan Björnberg having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jesper Hökkvist in the 97th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonatan Björnberg prevented the ball from getting in the gole. West End United's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
