It looked like it might be really tough for the goalie to handle, but the shot went into the stands to the left of Nils-Emil Lundin. Gräsmyu's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kurt Josefsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hillerstorp's Nils-Emil Lundin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Håkan Sandström in the 43rd minute of play. If Jens-Ove Uter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Klas Holmstedt's late challenge caught a Hillerstorp's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gösta Alebäck, 47 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Jens-Ove Uter made the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes Gräsmyu got a freekick which was hit by Arman Andberg. When Sören Löfkvist came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Hillerstorp fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sören Löfkvist couldn't finish the play. Kurt Josefsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nils-Emil Lundin having to interfere. Nils-Emil Lundin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kurt Josefsson's shot from short distance in the 93rd minute. In the 96th minute Håkan Sandström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nils-Emil Lundin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Kurt Josefsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hillerstorp's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
