The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Inge Ambjörnsson showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Stellan Mikaelsson made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Jonas Blomquist sent off a good shot on target. In the 32nd match minute, Överum IK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Dahlman to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Axel Lindqvist in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Stellan Mikaelsson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Överum IK's zone, Hjalmar Nordlund stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Inge Ambjörnsson came out of the goal and Hjalmar Nordlund tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Överum IK getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Mattias Albom hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Överum IK's zone, Hjalmar Nordlund stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Inge Ambjörnsson came out of the goal and Hjalmar Nordlund tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hjalmar Nordlund fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Inge Ambjörnsson having to interfere. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hjalmar Nordlund to make the kick off. When Hjalmar Nordlund came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Örgryte IS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hjalmar Nordlund couldn't finish the play. Axel Lindqvist struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Stellan Mikaelsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Överum IK. After 63 played minutes Örgryte IS got a freekick which was hit by Karl Grelsson. In the 67thth minute of the game Axel Lindqvist who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Örgryte IS's Stellan Mikaelsson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Hjalmar Nordlund's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Inge Ambjörnsson was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. Örgryte IS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nils Strömberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
