The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 10th minute, Stenstorp IFK's Adrian Bollström seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Adrian Bollström the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Stenstorp IFK protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Adrian Bollström had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 9 minutes into the game, one of Stenstorp IFK:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Karl-Oskar Nordstedt struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Per Berglund didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Stenstorp IFK. 26 minutes into the game, Joakim Backman was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Stenstorp IFK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave The Mighty the free kick. In the 26th match minute, Stenstorp IFK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joakim Backman to maneuver through the defense. In the 29th minute, Karl-Oskar Nordstedt left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Stenstorp IFK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 31st match minute, The Mighty was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Josef Deckberg to maneuver through the defense. Stenstorp IFK's Kjell Valström got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Karl-Oskar Nordstedt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Per Berglund tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, The Mighty's Evert Bengtsson got a free kick in the 44th minute. Karl-Oskar Nordstedt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Per Berglund having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Olof Benet to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute, Tord Kiempe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Olof Benet managed to get in a good position for a shot. The Mighty's supporters rose to their feet, but Olof Benet was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stig Hake breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Karl-Oskar Nordstedt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Per Berglund tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 75 minutes into the game, Stenstorp IFK's Nils Granqvist nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Per Berglund made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. 80 minutes into the match, Stenstorp IFK's goalkeeper Stig Hake had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Josef Deckberg. In the 81st minute, Karl-Oskar Nordstedt ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Per Berglund was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. Joakim Backman struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Per Berglund didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Stenstorp IFK. In the 89thth minute of the game Karl-Oskar Nordstedt who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but The Mighty's Per Berglund was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Nils Granqvist was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 90 minutes had been played. After 91 played minutes Stenstorp IFK got a freekick which was hit by Nils Granqvist. 95 minutes into the match, The Mighty's goal looked a bit too open when Kjell Valström came free, but Per Berglund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stenstorp IFK's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
