The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The Mighty's Per Berglund proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save The Mighty from getting a goal against them. Josef Deckberg scored 0-1 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Yngve Jönsätt, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gustav Adelsköld took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Yngve Jönsätt. Yngve Jönsätt dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Per Berglund stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Karl-Michael Bern's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. Elgereds SK's Yngve Jönsätt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tord Kiempe in the 32nd minute of play. Sebastian Brodin who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 33rdth minute tested the skills of Per Berglund when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When Elgereds SK's Karl-Michael Bern in the 38th minute got a chance for a shot 38th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A collision led to The Mighty getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Gustav Adelsköld hit a great ball. In the 53rd minute Karl-Michael Bern shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Per Berglund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind The Mighty's goalkeeper Per Berglund, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 56thth minute of the game Karl-Michael Bern who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but The Mighty's Per Berglund was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a little luck, Elgereds SK's Yngve Jönsätt got control of the ball when Josef Deckberg tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Karl-Michael Bern in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Per Berglund prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Per Berglund took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastian Brodin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Karl-Michael Bern's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Per Berglund read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Karl-Michael Bern's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Per Berglund was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. 70 minutes into the match, Elgereds SK's goal looked a bit too open when Olof Benet came free, but Yngve Jönsätt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 82nd minute of the game, Jonathan Kjellman landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. Karl-Michael Bern kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. In the 88th minute, Karl-Michael Bern made a precise shot to the right of Per Berglund. The Mighty's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. 93 minutes into the match, Josef Deckberg had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Yngve Jönsätt. Elgereds SK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Josef Deckberg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-4. The Elgereds SK supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching The Mighty's performance. The match ended with a win for The Mighty.
