When William Lindholm came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the FC City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that William Lindholm couldn't finish the play. Ivar Lagerberg blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tobias Örtlund having to make a save. BK Skansen's Tobias Örtlund proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save BK Skansen from getting a goal against them. Örjan Bern lost his temper 47 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sven-Erik Blom stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Mats Åkerberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Fredrik Ekenberg fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC City's protests and gave Fredrik Ekenberg a yellow card for diving instead. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing BK Skansen to win.
