The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience was convinced that Timmy Åberg's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Valdemar Dusett was relentless in the 5th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dag Alström got free with Erik Kjellqvist in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Valdemar Dusett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Timmy Åberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. In the 14th minute, Timmy Åberg made a precise shot to the right of Valdemar Dusett. Äppelbo FK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After 29th play minutes Timmy Åberg shot 0-2, a short shot which went by Valdemar Dusett and just under the crossbar into goal. Erik Kjellqvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jan Haeger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Äppelbo FK's zone, Timmy Åberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valdemar Dusett came out of the goal and Timmy Åberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Valdemar Dusett took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Egon Valler, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Äppelbo FK's Jan Haeger got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match clock showed 42 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Dag Alström sped through Ompa's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Erik Kjellqvist. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jan Haeger made a kick off. Valdemar Dusett took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Egon Valler, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Valdemar Dusett showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Egon Valler in the 56th minute of the match. Dag Alström recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jan Haeger blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Erik Kjellqvist having to make a save. Dag Alström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erik Kjellqvist having to interfere. Erik Kjellqvist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dag Alström in the 66th minute of the match. 67 minutes into the match, Ompa's goal looked a bit too open when Jan Haeger came free, but Erik Kjellqvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jan Haeger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Erik Kjellqvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 72ndth minute of the game Egon Valler who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Äppelbo FK's Valdemar Dusett was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Timmy Åberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ompa's Timmy Åberg got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Äppelbo FK's Valdemar Dusett proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Äppelbo FK from getting a goal against them. After having played for 78 minutes, Egon Valler managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ompa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Egon Valler was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Timmy Åberg struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Valdemar Dusett didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ompa. In the 83rd minute Egon Valler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valdemar Dusett saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dag Alström blasted a shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Erik Kjellqvist having to make a save. In the 88th minute Jan Haeger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erik Kjellqvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dag Alström's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Erik Kjellqvist read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play. Ompa's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
