Hannes Dalström went to the cornerflag to take it. Egon Valler charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Egon Valler the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Ompa getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Egon Valler hit a great ball. If Anders Häger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ompa's Timmy Åberg got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tom Klack made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Egon Valler in the 30th minute of play. A collision led to Ompa getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Magnus Klementsson hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Ompa's Timmy Åberg got a free kick in the 33rd minute. FC Selemba's Bertil Sikström got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 40th minute, Anders Häger got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Anders Häger hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After 58 played minutes, Ompa's Björn Björklund shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Tom Klack came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ompa reached it. Bertil Sikström struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Erik Kjellqvist didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Selemba. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Selemba's goalkeeper Tom Klack, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 67th minute, Timmy Åberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, FC Selemba's Paul Brandin got a free kick in the 70th minute. Timmy Åberg struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Tom Klack didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ompa. In a very dangerous position, a player in Ompa fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 85th minute. Penalty! The Ompa fans cheered their team off the field, for while FC Selemba had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
