Teckomatorp BK's supporters crossed their fingers, but John Engström was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. John Engström scored 0-1 in the 8th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Niclas Ivarsson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 19th minute, Josef Sundberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Josef Sundberg struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Niclas Ivarsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Teckomatorp BK. Christer Alebom might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ivan Petersson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Christer Alebom ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 26th minute Christer Alebom shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivan Petersson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stig Ström recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 32 minutes into the match, Teckomatorp BK's goal looked a bit too open when Christer Alebom came free, but Ivan Petersson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. John Engström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Niclas Ivarsson having to interfere. Erling Sjöman hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Stig Ström succeeded in the game's 37th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-1. Ivan Petersson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christer Alebom, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Christer Alebom sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Christer Alebom couldn't finish the play. Ivan Petersson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stig Ström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ivan Petersson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stig Ström, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. 70 minutes into the match, Stig Ström notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Teckomatorp BK's Ivan Petersson. The supporters of The Reds booed when Teckomatorp BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gunnar Västlund didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Fredrik Österlund fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored The Reds's protests and gave Fredrik Österlund a yellow card for diving instead. In the 84th minute, Fredrik Österlund hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. John Engström's shot straight on target was not completely harmless.
