Kista RK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Östen Kling was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Joakim Sjöö hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. If Östen Kling had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience was convinced that Knut Hansson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Erik Fors was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. Östen Kling received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Erik Fors tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Joakim Sjöö fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hammarö's protests and gave Joakim Sjöö a yellow card for diving instead. After 27 played minutes Hammarö got a freekick which was hit by Joakim Sjöö. In the 28th minute, Kent Modig sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Hammarö's Erik Fors didn't even have to move. In the 31stth minute of the game Knut Hansson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hammarö's Erik Fors was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Erik Fors made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Knut Hansson in the 32nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Östen Kling managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kista RK's supporters rose to their feet, but Östen Kling was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Erik Fors breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Östen Kling sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jan-Åke Käcker stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Christer Lindberg's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. Knut Hansson struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Erik Fors didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kista RK. In the 48th minute, Knut Hansson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Christer Lindberg stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Marcus Ståhlman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan-Åke Käcker saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Knut Hansson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Erik Fors tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Erik Fors showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Per-Arne Danielsson in the 60th minute of the match. Erik Fors didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 62nd minute, which inside left pole to 1-1. In the 65th minute, Marc Ahlqvist fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Erik Fors stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Knut Hansson's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. Jan-Åke Käcker came out of the goal in the 69th minute to try and stop a shot by Hammarö's Christer Lindberg. But to his dismay, Christer Lindberg quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. If Knut Hansson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Erik Fors showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Knut Hansson, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Kista RK's zone, Marcus Ståhlman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jan-Åke Käcker came out of the goal and Marcus Ståhlman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Östen Kling received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Erik Fors tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hammarö's Joakim Sjöö got his second yellow card of the match in the 94th minute. The referee ordered Joakim Sjöö off the ground. In the 95th match minute, Hammarö was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joakim Sjöö to maneuver through the defense. In the 96th minute of the match Kent Modig sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Erik Fors skillfully saved the ball. Östen Kling sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Hammarö players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
