Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Benjamin Malmström started the match with the kick off. Lyrestad's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mörbylånga the free kick. A collision led to Lyrestad getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Axel Ström hit a great ball. An unexpected shot in the 5th minute by Karl-Ove Zachrisson got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. A collision led to Lyrestad getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Erik Bark hit a great ball. The long shot by Bengt-Åke Abrahamsson in the 7th minute really tested Gilbert Sundin's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 8th minute Joachim Lidberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilbert Sundin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benjamin Malmström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without John Ek having to interfere. In the 13th minute, Andreas Wennerquist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gilbert Sundin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joachim Lidberg's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. 16 minutes into the match, Lyrestad's goalkeeper Gilbert Sundin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Karl-Ove Zachrisson. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Karl-Ove Zachrisson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mörbylånga's supporters rose to their feet, but Karl-Ove Zachrisson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gilbert Sundin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Lyrestad's Erik Bark got a free kick in the 19th minute. Gilbert Sundin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joachim Lidberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Jarl Rosendahl kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Lyrestad's Gilbert Sundin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joachim Lidberg in the 25th minute of play. 28 minutes into the match, Mörbylånga's Karl-Ove Zachrisson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gilbert Sundin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lyrestad's Gilbert Sundin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Lyrestad from getting a goal against them. Gilbert Sundin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joachim Lidberg in the 31st minute of the match. With a little luck, Lyrestad's Gilbert Sundin got control of the ball when Joachim Lidberg tried to sneak it across the goal line. Joachim Lidberg was extremely unlucky when he, in the 39th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Gilbert Sundin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joachim Lidberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joachim Lidberg stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Mörbylånga's Karl-Ove Zachrisson got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 58 minutes into the game, Joachim Lidberg cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Gilbert Sundin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Karl-Ove Zachrisson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilbert Sundin having to interfere. Gilbert Sundin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joachim Lidberg in the 70th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Lyrestad defense, Karl-Ove Zachrisson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gilbert Sundin. The Lyrestad fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gilbert Sundin should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Mörbylånga getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Marcus Bållström hit a great ball. The supporters of Lyrestad booed when Mörbylånga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Michael Öfverman didn't get a good kick on the ball. John Ek acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 78th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Axel Ström. The supporters of Mörbylånga booed when Lyrestad was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jarl Rosendahl didn't get a good kick on the ball. Karl-Ove Zachrisson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Gilbert Sundin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sven-Erik Söderman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without John Ek having to interfere. Benjamin Malmström recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Joachim Lidberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Gilbert Sundin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Karl-Ove Zachrisson struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Gilbert Sundin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mörbylånga. In the 95th match minute, Lyrestad was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Karl Gunnarsson to maneuver through the defense. Mörbylånga's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
