The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Folke Albohm in the 4th minute of play forced Röfors's goalkeeper Ola Hafström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 9 minutes into the game, Sparka BK's Folke Albohm nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sparka BK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Gullesson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Röfors booed when Sparka BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Gullesson didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Mikael Wiklund fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Röfors's protests and gave Mikael Wiklund a yellow card for diving instead. In the 23rd minute, Mikael Wiklund hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 31st minute, Sparka BK's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Joakim Ryberg fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 33rd minute, Daniel Gullesson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Folke Albohm had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Sparka BK were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ludvig Västerstrand to strike the kick off in the second half. If Daniel Gullesson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sparka BK's Daniel Gullesson got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Röfors's Ola Hafström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ralf Levander in the 58th minute of play. After 69 played minutes Röfors got a freekick which was hit by Mikael Wiklund. Daniel Gullesson struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Ola Hafström didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sparka BK. Daniel Gullesson might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ola Hafström. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Gullesson ran back to his position shaking his head. The crowd rose to their feet as Folke Albohm kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ola Hafström. That made the score 0-4 in the 75 minute of play. After 80 played minutes Röfors got a freekick which was hit by Mikael Wiklund. Daniel Gullesson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Elias Odin in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ola Hafström prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Gullesson got free with Ola Hafström in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Elias Odin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sparka BK's supporters rose to their feet, but Elias Odin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ola Hafström breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
