Kent Smitt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joakim Ryberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vilgot Vassenius in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ola Hafström prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Osby booed when Röfors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ingvar Fridlund didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 13th minute, Jens-Åke Wållander sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Röfors's Ola Hafström didn't even have to move. After having played for 19 minutes, Joakim Ryberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Röfors's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joakim Ryberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 21st minute Joakim Ryberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kent Smitt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 23rd minute, Sven-Ove Isaksson made a precise shot to the right of Ola Hafström. Röfors's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. 36 minutes into the match, Osby's goal looked a bit too open when Ludvig Västerstrand came free, but Kent Smitt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Erland Willig charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ingvar Fridlund in the 87th minute of play forced Osby's goalkeeper Kent Smitt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
