After a defensive mix-up in Ekerö IF's zone, Ingvar Hård stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lennart Rydberg came out of the goal and Ingvar Hård tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bruzaholm's Ingvar Hård got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Henrik Grönlund showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nils-Erik Blomqvist in the 11th minute of the match. Linus Kjellberg kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Nils-Erik Blomqvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henrik Grönlund having to interfere. A collision led to Bruzaholm getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Mathias Ahlbeck hit a great ball. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bruzaholm's goalkeeper Henrik Grönlund, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Kurt Wickander kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. If Olof Nyström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 42 minutes into the match, Bruzaholm's goal looked a bit too open when Nils-Erik Blomqvist came free, but Henrik Grönlund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 46th minute Bengt-Arne Åkerström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henrik Grönlund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ingvar Hård stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Henrik Grönlund was a little too slow when Bengt-Arne Åkerström got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 54th minute. The score was now 0-1. The supporters of Ekerö IF booed when Bruzaholm was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Karl-Ove Offendahl didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 62nd minute of the match Hans Ljungberg shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Henrik Grönlund showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 64 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Bruzaholm! After having played for 75 minutes, Nils-Erik Blomqvist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ekerö IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nils-Erik Blomqvist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nils-Erik Blomqvist scored 0-3 in the 80th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Henrik Grönlund, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Henrik Grönlund made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nils-Erik Blomqvist in the 88th minute. 90 minutes into the game, Kurt Wickander was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bruzaholm's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ekerö IF the free kick. Kurt Wickander hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Henrik Grönlund was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Bengt-Arne Åkerström showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-4 in the 97 minute of play. Ekerö IF's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
